Back Pain

BACK PAIN

Back pain can be quite frustrating and debilitating, if you’ve experienced this before then you know just how uncomfortable it can be. It one of the most common things we see at Avia Chiropractic, it is estimated that 70-90% of Australians will suffer from back pain at some stage in their life.

Back pain can differ from person to person, you can experience one or a combination of the following symptoms:

  • dull ache
  • loss of movement and stiffness
  • sharp pain upon movement
  • pain referring down the back into the top of hips.
  • sciatica – numbness tingling or shooting pain down the leg
  • disc bulges
  • difficulty breathing
  • rib pain

Some of the common causes of back pain we see at Avia Chiropractic are:

  • spinal misalignment (spinal joints not moving freely)
  • incorrect lifting technique
  • prolonged sitting
  • car accidents
  • poor posture
  • poor sleep position
  • sporting injuries
  • overuse/ repetitive strain injuries
  • pregnancy

If left untreated many of these causes can alter the way in which you move, function, and feel.  Therefore, contributing to spinal degeneration, muscle pain and spasms, disc bulges and irritation to the nervous system in the back.

HOW WE CAN HELP

At Avia Chiropractic we take a thorough approach to Back pain, if we determine we can help you, then we will find the root cause of the problem by examining your entire body – not just where the pain is.

From there we will create a treatment plan designed specifically for you to help with your problem. Our treatment will include spinal adjustments, adjustments to other joints in the body particularly the lower limb, muscle work, and rehab exercises to ensure you don’t re-exacerbate your condition.
