ELBOW PAIN

Elbow pain can be niggly and annoying, if you’ve experienced elbow issues before then you know just how uncomfortable it can be. 

It’s most common in people who play racquet sports, people who work at a desk, and people who do trades that use their hands for repetitive manual work.    

Elbow pain can differ from person to person, you can experience one or a combination of the following symptoms: 

  • dull ache 
  • loss of movement and stiffness 
  • sharp pain 
  • pain referring down forearm and wrist   
  • pain in bicep muscle and shoulder 
  • loss of grip strength 
  • pain during hand movements 

Some of the common causes of elbow pain we see at Avia Chiropractic are: 

  • spinal misalignment (spinal joints not moving freely) affecting the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints 
  • incorrect work desk setup 
  • prolonged sitting 
  • poor posture 
  • poor sleep position 
  • sporting injuries – golf, tennis, badminton, hockey, baseball. 
  • overuse/ repetitive strain injuries 

If left untreated many of these causes can alter the way in which you move, function, and feel.  Therefore, contributing to wear and tear of the shoulder, elbow and wrist joints, muscle pain and spasms.
