Do I need a GP referral to see a chiropractor?

No, you can come to see a chiropractor without a GP referral.
If you have been to your GP and they decide that a chiropractor is the best option for you then your GP can provide you with up to 5 EPC (enhanced primary care) visits per calendar year, covered by Medicare.

What is the “cracking” noise?

A common misconception is that the “cracking” noise is the sounds of your bone cracking or grinding. The sound made from a chiropractic adjustment is simply the release of gasses that have built up between spinal joints caused by the joint not moving properly. It is similar to the “popping” sound of bubble wrap, and no different to the sound made when you crack your fingers, knees or ankles.

If the sound is off-putting or makes you uncomfortable, let us know and we can modify your adjustments without compromising your care.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Similar to all forms of health care there are risks involved. The reason we are so thorough with our intake process (this includes the history taking and the physical, and neurological examination process) is because we want to ensure we are eliminating as many risks as possible before starting chiropractic care.

Our number 1 priority is to ensure safety and comfort.

What are the costs? Can I use private health insurance?

Chiropractic is covered by all private health insurance as long as you have chiropractic extras. The amount covered is dependent on the type of cover you have, check with your provider for more information.
We offer a complimentary discussion. If we think we can help you after the discussion, then we will proceed with a paid examination and treatment if it is safe and required.

How many adjustments will I need?

There are many varying factors, to put it simply it depends on you and your goals. It also depends on how long the problem has been there for, and how severe the problem is.
No two people are the same, therefore no treatment plans are the same.
We will provide a plan based on your goals and the findings from the history, and examination process, and come up with a treatment plan tailored specifically for you.

Can pregnant woman and children get adjusted?

Yes, we see patients of all ages. Many women choose to see a chiropractor from the early stages of pregnancy, right through to birth and beyond.

Chiropractic techniques used on adults are very different from techniques used on children, therefore we can safely provide care to suit any individual, in many different circumstances.
