Knee Pain


Knee pain can be quite annoying and can impact your daily life activities, if you’ve experienced knee issues before then you know just how uncomfortable knee pain can be. 

Knee pain is most common in athletes who participate in regular physical activity, and the elderly where the pain is usually coming from arthritis in the knee joint 

Knee pain can differ from person to person, you can experience one or a combination of the following symptoms: 

  • dull ache 
  • loss of movement and stiffness 
  • sharp pain 
  • pain when running or walking 
  • pain when weightbearing 
  • difficulty kicking, walking, or lifting. 
  • Clicking in the knee 
  • Tenderness under kneecap

Some of the common causes of knee pain we see at Avia Chiropractic are: 

  • spinal misalignment (spinal joints not moving freely) affecting the alignment of the hip, knee, and ankle 
  • incorrect running technique  
  • incorrect footwear  
  • poor posture 
  • sporting injuries – sprain, strain, ACL/PCL/MCL tear, meniscus tear  
  • overuse/ repetitive strain injuries (ITB syndrome, Osgood Schlatter’s disease)

If left untreated many of these causes can alter the way in which you move, function, and feel.  Therefore, contributing to wear and tear of the ankle, knee and hip joints, muscle pain and spasms.
