New Patients

At Avia chiropractic we are very different from other chiropractors, whether it’s your first time seeing a chiropractor, or you’ve seen one before we aim to make your first experience with us comfortable, and easy.
We offer a complimentary initial consultation to determine if chiropractic care can help you, we outline exactly what to expect in the first discussion you have with the chiropractor.

After you’ve booked your appointment which you can do online or over the phone you will receive a confirmation email and text to confirm your appointment.
Once we’ve confirmed your appointment you will be asked to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out our initial consultation paperwork, so that we can gather all the information we need to help you with your problem.

If you have a busy schedule, you can complete your initial paperwork at home before coming to your appointment by downloading and printing this document.

The 5 step New Patient Process

1. History

You will sit down with the chiropractor and explain what your current problem is, the chiropractor will then ask specific questions about your history and your health to try to get the full picture of what’s going on. We want to make sure we get to the root cause of your problem; make you feel comfortable and most importantly make you feel heard and understood.

2. Examination

After the discussion, if the chiropractor feels they can help you then you can choose to go ahead with the paid examination. This examination will include a posture scan, orthopaedic and neurological testing, as well as a thorough chiropractic examination.
To find the root cause of your problem the chiropractor will examine your whole body, not just the area of complaint.

3. X-Ray

Depending on the examination findings the chiropractor will make the decision to either perform an adjustment or to wait to see spinal x-rays, or to refer you to the person who can best help you.
If the chiropractor gives an adjustment, they may still want to get x-rays of your spine to get the full picture of your spinal health.
If the chiropractor needs to wait to see x-rays then you will be referred to a local x-ray clinic, which provides bulk billing appointments.

4. Report of Findings

Your next appointment will be your Report of findings, this is where the chiropractor will explain your problem in further detail, if you had x-rays you will be shown and explained the findings from those images.
The chiropractor will then adjust you accordingly, and outline the treatment options based on your goals, the costs and recovery times will also be explained.

5. Adjustments

From here your future appointments will consist of adjustments only, and re-examinations will be performed at different stages of care to make sure we’re working towards your goals, and ensuring optimal movement, function.
